We designed, developed and managed a free online gallery for every school in the UK and Ireland to share digital versions of pupils’ artwork. After a successful pitch to UK snack food giant Walkers, the project ran for four years.
Launched in 2001 at world-leading education technology event BETT by Sir Steven Redgrave, schools received free log in details and could upload examples of their students’ creative work into the searchable gallery, which was open to anyone nationwide.
The scheme saw more than 12,000 individual pieces of work shared via the Walkers Showcase website and the initiative was publicised on more than 1 billion packets of crisps. The gallery became a valued free teaching and learning resource for the entire country.
